Imagemap extension for TYPO3

In one of my recent customer projects, I needed to build an imagemap that allowed us to enhance the look and feel of the start page. First we thougt about just adding the pure (manually built) HTML source as a content element of type HTML. But a short search in the TYPO3 Extension Repository showed a whole bunch of extensions.

We chose the one called Imagemap Wizard by Tolleiv Nietsch. This extension features a very nice way to work with the imagemap: Once you create a new content element of type Imagemap, you can position your circle, rectangle and even polygon shapes directly on the image. A bit of Javascript magic will transform it to coordinates. This can be seen in the manual.

The only issue I had, was that the manual said (ans showed with a screenshot) something different, than my installation. But as soon as the additional field(s) were entered in the configuration in the extension manager, the fields showed up and could be filled and used. Together with some Javascript and jQuery, the effect looks really nice!

Thanks Tolleiv for that cool extension! If you also like this extension then go and vote for it!
